Features and performance

The 6K/8K Series is positioned as the best-selling gas fireplace in its category, and the 6KL 36 carries that appeal into a format that emphasizes both appearance and everyday usability. The large viewing area helps the flame presentation feel open and prominent, so the fire becomes a central design feature in the room. Trend-forward design choices give the fireplace a cleaner, more contemporary presence while preserving the familiar comfort people want from a gas hearth.

Several performance features add to its appeal. Direct vent technology removes fumes or combustion exhaust efficiently and effectively from the home, supporting a cleaner indoor environment. IntelliFire Touch provides flexible control through the IntelliFire App, a smart speaker, a touchscreen remote control, or a wireless wall switch. The dynamic thermostat tapers flames as temperatures rise to help maintain a comfortable level, and heat management lets you put warmth where you want it, when you want it.

That combination makes the 6KL 36 especially attractive for homeowners who want more than decorative flame. It is built to deliver ambiance and practical heat support in one unit, which is helpful in living rooms, great rooms, finished basements, and other spaces where comfort and visual impact matter. Buyers in Northern Michigan often look for a fireplace that can contribute to the room during long cool seasons while still feeling inviting when the home is simply in relaxation mode. This model is designed around that balance. The broad viewing area also helps create an open, architectural feel that can make a room seem more complete without overpowering the rest of the interior.

Specifications and sizing

The 6KL 36 Gas Fireplace - DV includes a viewing area measuring 34 1/4 x 24 3/4 inches. Its listed framing dimensions are 42 inches wide, 22 inches deep, and 40 1/8 inches high. Those numbers give buyers a practical starting point for planning the opening, surround, and finish materials around the fireplace.

Heat output is listed at 35,000 BTU/hr input on natural gas and 34,000 BTU/hr input on liquid propane. That fuel flexibility helps homeowners match the fireplace to the gas setup already available in the house. Because the model uses direct vent technology, it is designed to move exhaust outside efficiently, which is a valuable consideration in a fireplace installation where comfort and indoor air handling are both part of the decision.

For homeowners comparing products across the greater Traverse City area, these dimensions and heating figures make it easier to evaluate fit before the project moves further. The numbers are useful whether you are planning a primary gathering space or adding a new focal point to a room that needs a stronger sense of warmth and presence. The 6KL 36 also suits homeowners who want a balance between strong visual impact and a straightforward framing plan, because its listed dimensions help reduce guesswork during the early planning stage.
