Features and design

The Intrepid Direct Vent emphasizes timeless stove styling with 100% cast iron construction and operable doors that create an authentic look and feel. Its compact dimensions help it fit into rooms where space is at a premium, while still delivering the visual presence people want from a premium stove. Multiple finish options make it easier to coordinate with a room’s existing palette, and the Vermont Castings design language gives the appliance a traditional, substantial character.

Key reported specifications include an appliance width of 21-3/4 inches, height of 24-1/4 inches, and depth of 13-7/8 inches. The stove is described as available in four finishes, and the product family offers size options to help match different spaces.

That flexibility matters for households that want a stove to feel intentional rather than oversized. The compact body can support a cleaner layout in smaller rooms, while the cast iron detail helps the appliance still read as a true focal point. Because the stove is built around a direct vent format, it is positioned as a refined heating solution for buyers who want a traditional aesthetic with a more modern installation approach.

Heating performance and controls

This direct vent gas stove is built to provide reliable, efficient heat that can take the chill out of a room. Its listed input range is 12,500 to 17,500 BTU/hr, with steady-state efficiency of 80.0%, AFUE of 76.5%, and Canada EnerGuide of 64.0%. For buyers comparing comfort and convenience features, the stove can be operated with the standard touchscreen remote or an optional IntelliFire app, giving households a choice between straightforward physical control and app-based convenience.

That combination of cast iron construction, visible flame presentation, and controllable output makes the Intrepid Direct Vent appealing to homeowners who want an attractive supplemental heat source that still feels easy to live with day after day.

The product’s appeal is not only visual. A stove in this category needs to be comfortable to use, responsive when the temperature changes, and simple to integrate into daily routines. The choice between remote operation and app-based control gives buyers a practical way to match the appliance to their habits, whether they prefer quick adjustments from the sofa or a connected control option that feels more flexible.

Local context for nearby homeowners

Buying a fireplace appliance is often about finding a balance between look, fit, and function, especially in homes spread across a broad regional market. That is why the Intrepid Direct Vent can be a smart option for homeowners in and around Traverse City who want a compact gas stove with a classic appearance and modern convenience. It also fits naturally into conversations for households in Manistee, Boyne City, and Houghton Lake that are exploring a dependable supplemental heat source.

For a little local flavor, the shoreline setting around Manistee Pierhead lights is a familiar northern Michigan reference point, while Young State Park offers another recognizable name in the region. Those places are part of the area’s context, but the real focus here is the stove itself: a compact, attractive direct vent model built for everyday comfort.

For many buyers, the value of a stove like this is that it can suit a range of homes without requiring the room to be redesigned around it. Whether the goal is to add atmosphere to a main living area or bring more usable warmth to a favorite gathering space, the Intrepid Direct Vent offers a balanced package of size, styling, and heating performance.
