Hot Tubs, Saunas and Fireplaces for Lake Ann, MI Homes

Lake Ann at dusk, seen from Lakefront Park in the village of Lake Ann, Michigan

Phillips Lifestyles sells, installs and services hot tubs, swim spas, saunas, fireplaces, fireplace inserts and pellet stoves for homeowners in Lake Ann, Michigan. The family-owned company has served Northern Michigan since 1980 from two showrooms in the Traverse City area. Lake Ann is about 10 miles west of Traverse City. For a home in the village or on the lake, the team can recommend the right products, install them properly and look after them for years.

About Lake Ann

Lake Ann was established in 1864. The first settling family, that of Addison P. Wheelock, named the lake after his wife, and the village was incorporated in 1914. It was once a stop on the Manistee and North-Eastern Railroad.

The lake lies along the Platte River, and Lakefront Park gives the village its gathering place. Lake Ann Camp has brought young people here every summer since 1948. No state highway runs through; county roads connect the village to Traverse City and the rest of Almira Township.

Northern Michigan winters shape daily life in a small town. Snow arrives in November and stays, and neighbors spend more time indoors and close to home. Comfort at home matters more because of it.

Lake Ann has grown as people who work in Traverse City look for a small-town setting. Homes include village houses, lake cottages and newer construction in the surrounding woods.

Choosing a Hot Tub in Lake Ann

A hot tub gives a home in town its own private retreat, a few steps from the back door. At Phillips Lifestyles you can compare several leading brands side by side, including Hot Spring, Caldera Spas, Jacuzzi, Nordic, Sundance and Marquis. See them on the hot tubs page. The Caldera Palatino and the Hot Spring Aria are two mid-size models worth a look.

The best way to decide is to get in one. A free test soak at either showroom lets you try a spa before you buy. After that, the free in-home consultation brings a Phillips Lifestyles consultant to your property to measure, plan the delivery path, check clearance for the cover lifter and talk through steps and surrounds. The company uses approved electrical contractors and includes startup and fill.

If fitness is the goal, ask about Endless Pools swim spas, which let you swim in place year-round.

Heating a Lake Ann Home with Fire

Older village homes often have a fireplace that is more decoration than heat, and that is easy to fix. Phillips Lifestyles offers fireplaces and fireplace inserts from Heat & Glo, Quadra-Fire, Napoleon, Enviro and Mendota in gas, wood, pellet and electric versions.

Each fuel has its place. Gas gives instant heat from a remote. Wood suits owners with a supply on hand, and the Quadra-Fire Discovery II wood stove is a proven choice. Pellet stoves such as the Quadra-Fire Santa Fe feed themselves from a hopper and hold a set temperature.

Installation is done in-house by a crew led by Rob Horton, with Randy Johnson, Jason Jones and Ron Magee. Not sure what size you need? The blog explains how many BTUs a room requires.

Saunas, a Northern Michigan Tradition

Sauna culture runs deep in Michigan. Phillips Lifestyles offers saunas from Finnleo and Tylo in traditional and infrared styles, plus outdoor units such as the Finnleo Patio Series. For a one-of-a-kind space, the Traverse City Sauna Company, part of the Phillips Lifestyles team, builds custom saunas. Craftsmen Don Ruff and Chris Champt can design around a basement, a bathroom addition or a spot in the yard.

Planning Your Project

A little planning makes everything go smoothly. Begin by deciding what you want from the space: relaxation, heat, exercise or entertaining. Phillips Lifestyles staff then help narrow the choices. For spas, that means a test soak and a free in-home consultation, with online requests answered within 24 hours. The company manages delivery, uses approved electrical contractors for wiring, and includes startup and fill. For fireplaces and stoves, an installer checks venting and clearances at your home before the work is scheduled.

On an in-town lot, measure gates and side yards before you shop, because delivery access often decides which models are possible. Check local setback and electrical permit requirements, and consider privacy screening from neighboring windows.

Billiards, Grills and Massage Chairs

Comfort is not only about heat and water. Phillips Lifestyles stocks Brunswick and Olhausen billiard tables and game tables, grills for outdoor cooking and massage chairs. They are a good reason to visit a showroom even if a spa or stove is what brought you in.

Who You Will Work With

Phillips Lifestyles is family-owned and has been part of Northern Michigan since 1980. Dennis and Debbie Riedel own the company, having relocated with their children to carry it forward, and general manager Ryan Gubbins runs daily operations.

The sales team includes Tony Fifarek, who is also the head mechanical consultant, Cherryland store manager Tyler Hanna, Kenny Smith and Wesley Bonesteel. Warehouse manager Glen Wirth and the delivery crew get products to your door, and service manager Jim Eddy oversees the technicians who maintain them. Meet everyone on the About Us page.

Keeping Everything Running

Good products last longer with regular care. The Phillips Lifestyles service team handles installation, maintenance and repair, as described on the services page.

With the Spa Maintenance Program, a technician visits on the schedule you choose, from weekly to every four weeks, to balance the water chemistry, clean the spa and its cover, clear out debris and rotate the filters. Technicians also offer advice on best practices. For anything else, use the service request form.
